In a recent podcast interview and social media comments, U.S. Vice President J.D. Vance affirmed his loyalty to President Donald Trump while expressing understanding of Elon Musk’s public criticism of a newly proposed federal budget.
Vance referred to Musk as an “incredible entrepreneur” and acknowledged that the business magnate’s concerns about the budget bill, which passed the House and is currently under Senate review, are “understandable.” Musk argues the bill would significantly increase national debt and burden taxpayers.
The Vice President also praised DOGE, a government initiative focused on reducing waste and bureaucracy, led in part by Musk. Despite Musk’s recent departure from formal government involvement, the program remains active.
Vance commented that the legislative process in Washington can be frustrating for business leaders and described the bill as good, though not perfect. He also voiced hope that Musk might eventually reconcile with the president’s political movement, despite current tensions.
Musk’s recent posts on social media included a call to establish a new political party and personal criticisms of Trump. In response, the president defended his budget plan and questioned the continuation of federal subsidies and contracts linked to Musk’s companies.
Vance warned that an ongoing conflict between Trump and Musk could be damaging, not only politically but also for the country at large. He also rejected allegations suggesting any link between Trump and the criminal activities associated with Jeffrey Epstein, labeling such claims as unfounded.
