SpaceX Rocket Explodes During Test in Texas; No Injuries Reported

A SpaceX rocket exploded Wednesday night during a test at the company’s facility in southern Texas. The incident produced a large fireball in the sky, but no injuries have been reported.

According to SpaceX, the Starship vehicle experienced a “major anomaly” around 11:00 p.m. while it was on the test stand preparing for its tenth flight test at the Starbase launch site, located at the southern tip of Texas.

The company stated that a safety perimeter was in place throughout the operation and confirmed that all personnel are safe and accounted for.

It also emphasized that there is no danger to nearby communities and asked the public not to approach the site of the explosion.

SpaceX noted it is working closely with local authorities to address the aftermath of the incident.
