Resounding Success of Teatro Real’s III Gala at Carnegie Hall in New York

New York – On June 5th, Teatro Real inaugurated its highly anticipated 2025 U.S. Tour with the celebration of its III Gala at Carnegie Hall, an event that brought together leading figures from the worlds of culture, diplomacy, and business in one of the most iconic concert halls in the world.

A landmark evening in a legendary venue

The evening started at 5:30 p.m. with a welcome reception and gala dinner at the Weill Terrace Room. At 8:30 p.m., guests gathered at the renowned Stern Auditorium / Perelman Stage for a spectacular musical program.

The event was hosted by the President and General Director of Teatro Real, along with the AHCES Foundation, and marked a significant moment in the institution’s international outreach and cultural diplomacy efforts.

Among the distinguished attendees were David Rockefeller Jr., Gregorio Marañón, Javier Cárdenas, Myriam Lapique, Enrique González Campuzano, Revoredo de Gut, Teresa A.L. Bulgheroni, and Xandra Falcó Girod, marchioness of Mirabel—all prominent supporters of the arts and of Teatro Real’s global mission.

A program of artistic excellence

The musical program opened with Joaquín Turina’s Danzas Fantásticas, Op. 22, followed by Erich Wolfgang Korngold’s Violin Concerto in D Major, Op. 35, masterfully performed by acclaimed young violinist María Dueñas.

After the intermission, the second part presented a lyrical journey through great titles of the Spanish repertoire, with the soprano Saioa Hernández as the protagonist of selected arias from La vida breve by Manuel de Falla, El gato montés by Manuel Penella and Los claveles by José Serrano.The program was completed with orchestral works by Maurice Ravel, including Alborada del gracioso and La valse as a brilliant closing of the evening.

The Teatro Real Orchestra, under the baton of David Afkham, delivered an exceptional performance that was met with long ovations and critical acclaim.

This third edition of Teatro Real’s New York gala reaffirmed the institution’s commitment to bringing Spanish music and opera to the global stage. Beyond its artistic success, the event served as a symbol of cultural dialogue and cooperation between Spain and the United States.
