Former U.S. President Donald Trump announced on social media that negotiations with Harvard University are progressing and a formal agreement could be revealed in the coming days.
Trump described the talks as constructive and stated that both parties are working toward a resolution that he believes would be “historic” and beneficial for the country.
The statement was made on the same day a federal judge granted a preliminary injunction, effectively maintaining the suspension of prior measures aimed at restricting international student attendance at Harvard.
Judge Allison D. Burroughs had previously issued a temporary order to block the administration’s efforts. Actions under Trump’s leadership included the disqualification of Harvard students from obtaining visas, and a presidential proclamation on June 4 that accused the university of not addressing alleged unlawful activity involving some students.
Further developments on the agreement are expected in the near future.
