Singer-songwriter Taylor Swift has announced the title of her upcoming album: The Life of a Showgirl. The early-morning reveal comes after months of anticipation from fans, following the end of her Eras Tour in December, which lasted 21 months.
In the days leading up to the announcement, Swift shared cryptic posts and images on social media, including a set of 12 photos from various moments on tour, all featuring a strong orange theme, signaling a new artistic era.
A reveal full of clues
Swift is well known for embedding hidden messages and numerical patterns in her work. On Monday night, her official website displayed a countdown clock that ended shortly after midnight. In a special podcast appearance, she presented a record labeled The Life of a Showgirl.
Details such as the album cover, tracklist, and official release date remain undisclosed. However, pre-orders for vinyl, cassette, CD, and posters are already available on her website, with shipping set before October 13.
A new chapter in her career
This will be Swift’s first studio album since regaining the rights to her master recordings in May. That process began after her first six albums were acquired by third parties, prompting her to re-record them under the “Taylor’s Version” label.
With The Life of a Showgirl, Swift begins a new phase in her career while keeping future plans for the re-release of Reputation and her self-titled debut under wraps.
